Zoom, The Video Conferencing Company, Is Calling Back Its Employees To The Office

Zoom, the video conferencing app provider that revolutionized remote work during the Covid-19 pandemic, is now calling back its employees to the office. As per the company?s statement, they are now using the ?structured hybrid approach? for the employees, which means that the employees that live near the office must come to the office at least twice a week.
As per the company?s top management, this rule shall be the most effective solution for offering video conferencing services. Hence, it is telling its employees, who stay near, to come back to the office. Many experts are of the opinion that this policy by Zoom is one of the biggest ironies for the company.
In a statement by the company –
?As a company, we are in a better position to use our own technologies, continue to innovate, and support our global customers. We?ll continue to leverage the entire Zoom platform to keep our employees and dispersed teams connected and working efficiently.?
Despite these steps from Zoom, similar steps have been taken by big technology companies like Amazon, Google, Salesforce, etc., as they are calling their employees back to the office for better effectiveness. This ended the work-from-home approach that started during the Covid-19 era, which allowed employees with the given freedom to work in the comfort of their homes.
However, it cannot be denied that many businesses faced pushback from employees after many workers started getting accustomed to flexible working and work-from-home methods.
Even the White House is calling out for in-person work, as opposed to remote work. Last week, the White House ordered Cabinet agencies to ensure that federal workers are frequently coming back to the office in the next upcoming months.
